Responsibilities
Manage the full lifecycle of software assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, utilization tracking, and decommissioning.
Maintain an accurate inventory of software licenses and entitlements to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and organizational policies.
Develop and implement processes to track, manage, and report on software usage and licensing metrics across enterprise environments.
Coordinate with procurement, IT, and security teams to support audits, license true-ups, and contract renewals.
Analyze software asset data to identify optimization opportunities, reduce cost, and mitigate compliance risks.
Use productivity tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to prepare documentation, reports, and executive-level presentations.
Facilitate and lead meetings with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication of requirements and status updates.
Maintain documentation related to software acquisition, licensing agreements, support contracts, and compliance reports.
Assist in the development and enforcement of asset management policies and procedures.
Stay current on industry best practices, licensing trends, and regulatory compliance requirements affecting software asset management.
Required Qualifications
6-8 years of proven knowledge and hands-on experience in software asset management within either the government or private sector.
Proficiency in office productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications.
Strong understanding of software licensing, compliance, inventory management, and lifecycle tracking.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and procedural information.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience leading or facilitating meetings, discussions, or briefings for both small and large groups.
Ability to collaborate across teams, stakeholders, and departments to support asset tracking and software compliance.
Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), or asset tracking systems is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph eligibility may be required based on contract specifications.
