Our Employee and Community Engagement Lead is a dynamic and passionate leader responsible for developing and executing strategies that cultivate a thriving employee culture and foster strong relationships with our local community. This lead is instrumental in ensuring our employees have the tools and experiences they need to execute our core values of Accountability, Authenticity, Curiosity and Determination. This role is pivotal in shaping our company's reputation as a responsible corporate citizen and an employer of choice. This includes ensuring company initiatives align with our core corporate values and oversight of the WPS Charitable Foundation.

Salary Range
$90,000 ~ $110,000
The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Hybrid Work Location
This position will be hybrid, having the regional availability to come into our Office 2 days a week cadence. Our office location: WPS Corporate Center Building - 1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI.

  • Would enjoy providing leadership and oversight to WPS Interest Networks (WINs)- {WPS’s version of an employee group} including facilitating Executive Sponsor and Co-Lead check-ins, participating in bi-weekly WIN meetings, coaching and succession planning for WIN leadership roles, and budget oversight.
  • Are able to manage our annual Culture and Engagement survey that includes; data gathering and analysis, sharing updates with senior executive leadership, and working with HRBPs to coach leaders on action planning and execution.
  • Want to serve as champion for the company's core values, ensuring they are integrated into all aspects of employee and community engagement.
  • Thrive when driving community partnership from activation through relationship management, communications, event representation and social media content development.
  • Enjoy managing internal communications related to employee engagement and community partnership initiatives.
  • Can monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs designed to promote corporate values.
  • Have managed an employee recognition platform, including regular check-ins with account executive, quarterly budget reviews, and addressing ad-hoc requests.
  • Enjoy managing annual community partnerships funding cycle and oversee the Community Partnership Advisory Team (CPAT) selection and onboarding.
  • Can serve as the WPS Charitable Foundation’s program administrator, ensuring Foundation activities align with the Board of Trustee’s approved strategy and confirm requirements set forth by Internal Revenue Service’s guidelines to maintain the Foundation’s non-profit status.
  • Would like to oversee biannual fundraising appeals, Charitable Foundation giving process, and the annual Ray Koenig Memorial scholarship program.
  • Are capable of providing complete charitable giving impact reporting driven by Board requests.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8 or more years in employee engagement, community engagement, talent development or related field.
  • 3 or more years of experience leading projects or people in an employee experience related role.
  • Strong understanding of corporate social responsibility and philanthropic best practices, this includes:
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire others.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data analysis using Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with cross-function teams including senior executives, HRBP’s and community partners.
  • Ability to drive measurable impact in employee engagement.
  • Experience managing a charitable foundation including strategic planning and fundraising.
