What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production (Full-Time/1st Shift) Mankato, MN position at Wis-Pak, Inc.?
Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the production employee performs tasks per the specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure quality standards are met.
JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)
- Production employees must understand and follow all established safety, health, quality, Food safety GMP guidelines and company guidelines and procedures are being met.
- Know the purpose and follow proper operation of all safety switches, interlocks and safety devices.
* Must maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
* Production employees are to check product and case codes frequently for accuracy and legibility and complete package changeovers accurately and timely.
* Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues with equipment.
* Follow escalation protocol in a timely manner when troubleshooting efforts fail.
* Work closely with maintenance when escalation to maintenance support is needed for a mechanical issue.
* Must complete and file all required quality and packaging documentation in an orderly and timely manner.
* Must notify lead and supervisor of any major problems or questions, including Quality or Food Safety concerns.
* Communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shift.
* Routinely communicate with up/down stream operators to maximize line performance and ensure product integrity.
* Ensure work area meets 5S guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires basic mathematical and writing skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and remain alert at all times.
- Must be able to work overtime, during peak production periods.
- Must be able to work under minimum supervision.
- Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform light maintenance.
- Consistently report to work on time.
