Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Journeyman to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to accurately diagnose issues.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC equipment using tools such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct maintenance on mechanical systems and mechanical components to ensure efficient operation.
- Repair plumbing and refrigerant lines while adhering to safety standards and EPA regulations for refrigerants.
- Diagnose complex equipment issues through systematic troubleshooting and implement effective repair solutions promptly.
- Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly.
Skills
- Construction experience with a strong understanding of building systems installation.
- Proven service technician experience with HVAC system repair and maintenance.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles and mechanical systems repair techniques.
- Familiarity with plumbing, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), and electrical diagnostics.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with HVAC system installation, building automation systems, boiler operation, appliance repair, property maintenance, and electrical systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent troubleshooting skills for HVAC/R (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; experience working with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely across job sites.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
