What are the responsibilities and job description for the District Sales Manager (URGENTLY REQUIRED) position at Wireless Store?
District Sales Manager
About the Role
As District Sales Manager (DSM), you'll lead the people, sales, and training strategy for a district of wireless retail stores. You'll manage a team of hands-on sales professionals, driving results across every location while building the kind of store culture that keeps customers coming back and top talent staying put.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives on autonomy, coaching, and competition — with earning potential that scales directly with your team's performance.
What You'll Do
Drive Results Meet or exceed sales, service, and operational targets across every store in your district. Review performance data regularly to catch gaps early and build S.M.A.R.T. action plans that move key metrics from red to green.
Lead Your Team Conduct monthly one-on-ones with Store Managers and Assistant Managers to review performance and set improvement plans. Run regular calls, trainings, and meetings that keep best practices flowing across the district. Recognize top performers and keep the team focused on shared goals.
Build the Bench Partner with store management to source, interview, and hire new team members using behavior-based selection practices. Lead a monthly New Hire Sales Training that gets new hires up to speed on core sales behaviors fast.
Be Present Visit each store regularly — including evenings and weekends — to coach in the moment, spot-check operations, and make sure the customer experience is consistently excellent.
Champion Standards Ensure every location follows company policies and procedures. Partner with HR on enforcement. Assess whether current programs and practices are actually working, and speak up when they're not.
Represent the Brand Collaborate with internal and external partners to plan and execute local events and promotions aligned with company marketing initiatives. Communicate with urgency, clarity, and professionalism across every channel — with customers, your team, leadership, and vendors alike.
What You Bring
- 2 years of multi-unit wireless retail experience, with a track record in both sales generation and sales training
- Proven success hiring, developing, and promoting Sales Consultants, Assistant Managers, and Store Managers
- Experience running behavior-based interviews and staffing stores with high-potential talent
- A track record of leading store-level marketing initiatives and sales promotions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort with everyday business tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- High integrity and sound judgment — you do the right thing even when no one's watching
- A valid driver's license and proof of liability insurance
- Flexibility to work 50 hours a week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, plus up to 50% travel
Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements
This role involves regular standing, sitting, and use of hands for tasks like typing, handling materials, and using a phone. Some visits may take place in stores under construction or renovation. Reasonable accommodations are available for candidates who need them.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a commission-based role — your earnings scale with your results, and top performers set their own ceiling. We also offer:
- Paid training to set you up for success from day one
- A competitive base commission structure
- Real recognition for hard work and results
- Room to grow within a growing organization
If you're a driven sales leader who wants a role where your effort directly shows up in your paycheck, we'd love to hear from you.
