As an Aggregate Plant Loader Operator, you will play a crucial role in operating and maintaining a front-end loader to move, load, and feed aggregate materials to ensure efficient and continuous plant operation. The Loader Operator plays a key role in maintaining production flow, plant cleanliness, and material quality, while prioritizing safety and equipment care.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a front-end loader to feed the plant with aggregate materials according to production requirements.
• Load trucks with aggregate materials while maintaining proper weights and load distribution.
• Inspect and maintain stockpiles to prevent contamination and ensure quality control of materials.
• Perform pre-shift inspections of the loader, checking fluid levels, tires, lights, and other components to ensure safe operation.
• Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the Plant Foreman immediately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area around the plant and stockpiles.
• Assist with plant maintenance, cleanup, and repair activities as directed.
• Keep accurate records of materials loaded, moved, or processed when required.
• Monitor the flow of material into bins and adjust loader operation to ensure consistent plant feed and prevent spillage or overflows.
• Follow all company and site-specific safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in the safe operation of front-end loaders and other heavy equipment.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for daily maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Ability to read and follow production schedules, load sheets, and foreman instructions.
• Strong attention to detail to maintain material quality and operational efficiency.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with plant personnel and truck drivers.

Experience and Training:

• 1 to 3 years of experience operating loaders or other heavy equipment in an aggregate, asphalt, or construction environment preferred.
• Familiarity with material handling and stockpile management.
• Knowledge of safety standards and heavy equipment operation best practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb in and out of equipment safely.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods while operating machinery.
• Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials or tools up to 50 lbs.
• Visual and auditory ability to identify hazards, hear instructions, and monitor equipment sounds.

Responsibility and Accountability:

• Equipment: Responsible for safe and efficient operation of the loader and prevention of equipment damage.
• Material: Accountable for maintaining proper stockpile management and preventing contamination or material loss.
• Safety: Must exercise constant care to avoid injury to self and others in a high-risk environment.
• Teamwork: Works closely with the Plant Foreman and other crew members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

The typical shift for this position is during the night, with occasional weekends based on job scheduling and weather conditions. Compensation will be based on experience.
