Job Summary:
The Endoscopy Technician assists the Endoscopy team during procedures by anticipating the required supplies and instruments, ensuring equipment readiness, and providing support for pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post-procedure phases. The Endoscopy Technician plays a key role in maintaining infection control standards and ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
Qualifications:
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift)
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds as needed
- Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching to handle equipment and assist patients
- For items exceeding 50 pounds, team lifting or mechanical assistance must be used in accordance with safety guidelines. Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in high-stress situations.
- Above average ability to manage multiple asks simultaneously
Performance Expectations
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout all stages of care.
- Demonstrate competency in managing endoscopy equipment, disinfection protocols, and assisting the clinical team.
- Maintain compliance with infection control standards and facility guidelines.
Job Qualifications:
- 1 year of healthcare experience preferred
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Understanding of aseptic technique principles and infection control practices
- Current BLS, or completed within 90 days of hire
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency
