What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Dog Groomer position at Wipe Your Paws?
We are seeking an experienced professional dog groomer to join our “Best of Westchester” Pet Grooming team! Part time or full time position available. The position is commission based. Unlimited opportunity to groom as many dogs as you would like.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to independently perform all grooming tasks including bathing, drying, styling, brushing, de-matting, teeth brushing, cleaning ears, and nail trimming/grinding, etc.
- Strong knowledge of dog breeds and their grooming standards
- Must be able to implement customer’s instructions and/or breed standards when clipping dog’s coat. Must be able to hand scissor.
- Perform routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment safe and organized
- Take daily notes and photos of each grooming client.
- Must be able to safely handle pets of all sizes and temperaments.
Qualifications:
· Ability to interact with animals is a calm, non-threatening manner
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to communicate efficiently with other staff members
· Must be punctual, hard working, self-motivated and reliable.
Experience:
- 3 years dog grooming/styling experience
- Hand scissoring skills a must
- Cat grooming experience a plus
About Wipe Your Paws:
Wipe Your Paws is an upscale grooming salon located in Mount Kisco (upper Westchester) that has been open for over 10 years and has won multiple grooming awards.
We offer a positive, friendly work environment with support of management.
Location is close to Metro North. Position is part-time or full-time.
