What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Flight Instructor position at Winyah Flight School?
Growing Part 61 Flight School Operation in Georgetown, SC is seeking full-time Certified Flight Instructors (CFI). We are offering full-time CFI positions with a very competitive salary and benefits package. We are seeking experienced, secure, and confident flight instructors who believe standards and policies must be maintained. Our instructors do not have a “better technique” than what is published in our Standard Operated Procedures (SOPs). Must live or be willing to relocate to within a 1.0-hour drive of the Georgetown County Airport in SC (KGGE).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

FAA Certified Flight Instructor/Instrument (CFI/CFII): Airplane Single Engine Land (ASEL).
- FAA certified flight instructor certificate in good standing.

One-year previous CFI training experience or 500 hours of dual instructor given.
- No time or our minimum requirements for previous military flight instructors.
- In-depth knowledge of FAA Private Pilot Airman Certification Standards (ACS) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Commitment to fostering a safe, professional, and supportive learning environment.
- Excellent Teaching, Crew Resource Management (CRM), and communication skills.
- Must be a self-motivated team player with a first safety first attitude.
- Current 2nd Class Medical.
- Current U.S. Passport.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Ability to pass:
- DOT Drug Testing Program (initial and random).
- Criminal background check.
- Excellent Crew Resource Management (CRM), and Communication skills.
- Free of any documented flight violations, mishaps or incidents in the past 5 years.
- Must be a self-motivated team player with a safety-first attitude.
- Willingness to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
PREFERRED
- FAA Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI).
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor, Airplane Single Engine Sea (ASES).
- Aviation Safety Management System Experience.
- Aviation degree.
- Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic experience (strongly preferred).
- Military background.
