TITLE: Intermediate School Assistant Principal (Grades 5–6)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
LOCATION: Winton Woods Intermediate School
CONTRACT: 262 Days
START DATE: August 1, 2025
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Winton Woods City Schools is seeking a dynamic, equity-driven leader to serve as Assistant Principal at Winton Woods Intermediate School, serving Grades 5 and 6. The ideal candidate will be passionate about academic excellence and whole-child development in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment. A strong background in Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PrBL) is essential, along with demonstrated success in supporting English Language Learners (ELLs) and implementing inclusive practices.
The Assistant Principal will serve as an instructional leader and key member of the school’s leadership team, helping to ensure a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for all students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Educational Administration or related field
Valid Ohio Administrative License (or eligibility)
Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience; leadership experience preferred
Deep understanding of Project-Based and Problem-Based Learning models
Demonstrated success working with English Language Learners and students from diverse backgrounds
Strong knowledge of Special Education law, including IEP/504 compliance and least restrictive environment practices
Expertise in implementing PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) and MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) frameworks
Experience with data-driven decision making and instructional coaching
Effective interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the implementation of rigorous, standards-based instruction rooted in PBL/PrBL
Promote a culture of equity, engagement, and high expectations for all learners
Supervise and support staff in curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
Monitor student progress and use data to inform interventions and enrichment
Lead and support schoolwide PBIS and MTSS initiatives
Ensure compliance with special education processes and legal requirements
Collaborate with families, staff, and community stakeholders to promote student success
Assist with scheduling, discipline, and school operations as assigned
Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive school climate
