Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-long term care oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in retail setting. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy department by ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, aseptic techniques, and patient service, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Utilize aseptic technique for IV infusion preparation and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols.
- Assist in filling and Packaging medication in compliance packaging for ALF
- Assist in managing inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing pharmaceuticals.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care in critical care settings.
- Stay updated on pharmacy practices, regulations, and new medications.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in Retail or Long Term Care is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to pharmacy and medication
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
