SUMMARY: Responsible for routine maintenance and repair of Wintergreen's on-road vehicles. This position performs preventive maintenance and basic automotive service, including oil changes, tire rotations, tire balancing and replacement, inspections, and troubleshooting vehicle concerns. The mechanic will help identify needed repairs and keep vehicles safe and ready for operation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on cars, trucks, vans, buses, and other on-road resort vehicles.
• Complete oil and filter changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and other scheduled service.
• Rotate, balance, repair, and replace tires as needed.
• Inspect brakes, steering, suspension, batteries, belts, hoses, lights, and other common vehicle systems.
• Troubleshoot vehicle concerns using basic diagnostic tools and recommend appropriate repairs or outside service when needed.
• Complete minor mechanical repairs and replace common wear items as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep commonly used parts and supplies available.
• Follow Wintergreen policies and safety procedures and assist with other vehicle maintenance tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous automotive maintenance or mechanic experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of gasoline-powered passenger vehicles and light trucks; diesel experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to safely perform routine maintenance and tire service.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools and basic automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to identify vehicle issues and determine when additional repair or vendor support is needed.
• Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate resort vehicles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work around vehicles for extended periods.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including occasional cold or winter conditions.
