Mobility/Paratransit Driver Supervisor
Winter Growth, a local non-profit with the mission to foster community by empowering seniors to live their best lives. We achieve this by listening and fostering an environment that encourages connections. We are seeking a Transportation Coordinator to monitor drivers at our adult medical daycare program in Columbia, Howard County. The Coordinator will ensure all drivers provide safe, efficient and courteous transportation services to seniors and adults with disabilities in our wheelchair vans. MUST have a valid driver’s license and clean driving history. MUST get certified in first aid and CPR, pass a physical examination for the DOT every two years. The person in this position will also be required to drive as needed due to staff absences.
This is a part time position, (full time is an option) Monday – Friday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the supervision of location staff including delegating, coaching/developing, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with all company standards.
- Follow, train, and drive all Safety initiatives including completing driver assessments and provide feedback on safe driving techniques.
- Follow prescribed protocols for processing incident reports.
- Recruit, select, and train new employees.
- Facilitate maintenance of all vehicles following maintenance schedule.
- Use respectful communication to answer client family questions, problems, and concerns.
- Immediately respond to reports of accidents, incidents, or safety concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Previous supervisory experience a PLUS
- Previous mobility/paratransit experience, preferred
- Must be able to pass and maintain a DOT physical examination, background check, and ongoing drug test.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Able to sit, stand, walk, bend and turn for most of shift
- Able to operate motor vehicle without restrictions
- Able to perform minor maintenance on vehicles (i.e. change headlights, top of oil and other fluids, etc.)
- Frequently operate small office equipment such as computer, copier/printer.
- Able to remain in seated position for extended periods.
