Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accurate financial records.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, balance sheets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to maintain financial accuracy.
- Utilize accounting software PierVantage to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Oversee payroll management using ADP while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll laws.
- Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with budgeting processes, tax preparation, and audit support while maintaining strict adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls for internal compliance.
- Support governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures as needed.
- Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy using 10-key typing skills; handle accounts payable/receivable functions diligently.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or bookkeeping roles with a strong understanding of GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
- Proficiency in multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks, ADP or UltiPro; familiarity with financial software integration is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Experience working within public accounting or non-profit organizations is highly desirable.
- Excellent math skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation tasks.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data quickly while maintaining a high level of accuracy under tight deadlines.
