Position Summary
The Regional Supervisor of Administrative Services – DC/CL is responsible for supervising Practice Coordinators and Practice Assistants in DC and Charlotte.This position creates and manages attorney assignments and oversees administrative teams.Acts as a liaison between staff and attorneys. Regular travel between offices (DC and Charlotte) is required.

SALARY
Washington, DC applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $121,000-$137,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.

The Regional Supervisor of Administrative Services – DC/CL is responsible for supervising Practice Coordinators and Practice Assistants in DC and Charlotte.This position creates and manages attorney assignments and oversees administrative teams.Acts as a liaison between staff and attorneys. Regular travel between offices (DC and Charlotte) is required.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides daily oversight of Practice Coordinators and Practice Assistants
- Creates and modifies attorney assignments to maintain well-balanced workloads; ensures appropriate staffing of administrative teams. Proactively collaborates with Partners directly on their support needs, applying input from the Senior Regional Manager of Administrative Services as needed.
- Develops and manages staff performance through informal coaching and training. Ensures appropriate documentation to comply with firm guidelines. Conducts one-on-one coaching with staff members to solicit feedback, address issues and concerns, and facilitate interpersonal conflict resolution, along with guidance from the Senior Regional Manager of Administrative Services.
- Oversees department attendance by reviewing and approving timecards, leave requests, and overtime utilizing firm software.
- Oversees the training and development for the Practice Assistant position.
- Plays a major role in the annual performance review cycle; provides comprehensive and insightful feedback for direct reports; and conducts performance review meetings with input from the Senior Regional Manager of Administrative Services.
- Conducts 90-day performance evaluations for new hires.
- Participates in the recruiting process to fill all staffing positions for PCs and PAs with input from the Senior Regional Manager of Administrative Services.
- Participates in the development of new hire orientation schedules for team members. Provides comprehensive information regarding firm and department policies and procedures.
- Travels regularly between offices for in-person team meetings and engagement.
- Participates in all new hire attorney orientations.
- Conducts quarterly team meetings to provide business updates and receive feedback on various topics with the Senior Regional Manager of Administrative Services.
- Creates and maintains department records and documents.
- Assists with various department projects.
- Coordinates with other administrative departments for training and development of department staff members.
- HS diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 5 years of legal support or administrative services experience with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a professional services or law firm preferred.
- This is an in-office role and will be expected to be in the office 4-5 days per week.
- Knowledge of general legal and practice specific (if applicable) administrative processes and procedures, technology systems, and research tools
- Comprehensive understanding of litigation filing procedures (including e-filing), and pleading formats for both state and federal courts
- Excellent written communications skills including excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word™ including creating, formatting, and editing legal documents and templates, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel™
- Excellent attention to detail; ability to prepare basic and legal documents with minimal errors; good proofreading skills; Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Proactively demonstrates effective teamwork and communication with team members and all firm personnel
- Strategic and problem-solving skills necessary to handle a wide range of issues.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills required to work with all levels of firm personnel.
