Job Summary for MRI and CT Tech:
Winston's client has an urgent need for a medical imaging professional who is duly certified as an MRI and CT Tech. This is a full time, contract opportunity open to both local and travel candidates. Hospital is located in the Hamptons - a great destination for travelers. Free housing is available for the first contract!! Ideal candidate must be capable of working independently and unsupervised.
Duties for MRI and CT Tech:
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing MRI imaging exams for all ages and adhere to safety procedures.
- MRI Tech operates the MRI equipment, prepares patients for procedures, and ensures that enough information has been obtained to make a diagnosis, assist in the management of patients and present images to the physician for diagnosis.
- Intravenous therapy/contrast selection and injection.
- Prepare and enter written documentation as required by the department, such as informed consent.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of Cat Scan Imaging Exams.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions.
- Maintain and exhibit behavior that promotes patient confidence and trust.
- Must produce computerized tomographic scanner Radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered/directed according to established policies and procedures.
- Must prepare or enter written documentation as required by the department such as informed patient consent, patient chart documentation, and other related duties. Must observe sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary.
- Check equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Asses the physical needs of the adult and geriatric patients.
- Demonstrate the ability to recognize and ally patients' fears and apprehensions about exams.
- Address the special needs of each age group served and assist in making reasonable accommodations for the hearing impaired, physically challenged or any other patients who may enter the Hospital.
- Observe Bio-Safety and Radiation safety rules and regulations.
Experience for MRI/CT Tech:
- Proven experience in both MRI and CT preferred.
- ARRT Certification in MRI and CT.
- NYS DOH License
- High School Diploma
- BLS through AHA
