High School Chemistry Teacher

Winston Salem Christian School seeks an outstanding Science teacher (Chemistry) to teach in the High School. Above all, the school seeks an educator who loves working with upper school students and supporting their efforts to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. A teacher who loves Science, loves Jesus, and loves students. A college degree is required. Successful candidates will be excited to work in a rigorous academic environment and will be eager to immerse themselves in the school community. Our school community growth requires us to pursue an additional science teacher in Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy.

Teachers must have a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and be active in a gospel centered church.

Key Responsibilities and Duties: · Teach full load of upper school Sciences (Chemistry and Environmental Science) · Manage a student load of between 100 and 125 students. Approximately 18 students per class period. · Nurture and support an advisee group of between 8 and 12 students · Participate in the life of the school by attending athletic, arts, fundraising, and other school events · Chaperone school functions, such as dances and school trips as needed · Participate on committees and task forces as needed (VERY LIMITED) · Maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues

Skills and Competencies: · Sense of humor and demonstrated success working with teenagers · Ability to differentiate instruction · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail · Excellent written and oral communication skills · Ability to design units and lessons · Capacity to maximize advantages of educational technology · Experience working with international students a plus but not required · Experience using G-Suite and Google Classroom a plus but not required.

Credentials: · Bachelor’s degree required · Minimum of three years teaching experience
