Summary:
To perform this job satisfactorily, a team member must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The General Production Worker demonstrates the ability to work in a constant State of Alertness & Safe Manner.

LEAN SAFETY: The team member demonstrates the ability to adhere to the safety policies and procedures of LEAN Manufacturing. Responsibilities:
· Promoting the essential Team Principles and Core Values of Winston Plywood & Veneer
· Know Lock Out/Tag Out for all equipment used.
· To learn more about the LEAN Guiding Principles and applying them in the day-to-day operations
· Expected to follow team members Safety Standards by adhering to both Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations.
· In order to abide by certain OSHA and Local Environmental Agency regulations, mandatory safety training, protective gear, and chemical handling procedures are required.
· Because of the potential for danger from working close to large machines, understanding that safety is first by taking responsibility for working safely in your job and following all established safety rules, regulations, and procedures
· Due to production line requirements, machine operators work in an environment where teamwork is important.
· Attends and completes all required monthly safety training
· Promote Departmental Housekeeping in my job area
· To recognize and take action on machine problems through SOP and communication.
· Communicate with tender on departmental issues
· Relieve operators for lunch/breaks, vacations, etc.
Physical Requirements and Demand:
· Involves exposure to chemicals, loud noises, and equipment that is both automated and manual.
· Need to be able to lift 50 pounds and work on their feet, while using tools to perform repetitive actions, for a 10-hour shift.
· Ability to move, lift, carry and transfer merchandise and supplies weighing 50 pounds or greater.
· While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
· Due to time-sensitive nature of manufacturing, may have over-time requirements
Work Environment:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
· The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must coordinate eye-hand movements.
· This job requires standing at all times, occasional movement around and within workstation, frequent change of body position to reach sheets and send through feeder.
· Constant bending forward to feed sheets.
· Constant pushing motion.
· Occasional moving on and off platform and constant balancing.
· Frequent forward and lateral reaching movements.
· Works side by side with other co-workers on a platform.

Desired Skills and Experience:
Education:
· High school diploma or its equivalent.
· Two years of experience working in a similar area is a common requirement and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
On-the-job training is prevalent for this position
Language Skills:
· Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in English language
Work Environment:
· Enforce and adhere to Lean Safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
· Follow the guidelines and procedures for OSHA and Local Environmental Agency regulations
· Due to production line requirements, machine operators work in an environment where teamwork is important.
