Responsibilities
- Safely operate various commercial vehicles, including box trucks and
driver vehicles, to deliver goods across designated routes. - Load and unload packages using heavy lifting techniques, pallet jacks, forklifts, or manual methods, ensuring items are secured properly for transit.
- Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting recipients professionally, answering questions, and ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Verify delivery details against manifests or invoices before loading and upon completion of each route.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and any incidents during transit or at delivery sites.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist in warehouse activities such as inventory management, stock movement, and preparing shipments for dispatch when needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a strong understanding of route driving and navigation tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission vehicles preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy packages safely and perform physical tasks associated with moving goods regularly.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles is highly desirable.
