Overview
Scope of Position: The Analyst, Foundation Business Operations will serve on a team of analysts, focused on business and system process optimization. This person continually evaluates processes, pro-actively identifies and tackles new/ recurring analysis needs, understands root causes, assesses potential impacts on systems and processes, recommends solutions, and prioritizes backlog projects. The Analyst also builds, populates, and maintains various dashboards. The role will work with partners across various areas of the Foundation to deliver corresponding analyses and reports.
Reports to: Senior Manager, Foundation Insights & Analytics
Responsibilities
- Translate and document end-to-end business processes for non-technical audiences into project deliverables, including detailed requirements, data interpretation, and workflow diagrams
- Conduct various analyses, identify root causes of workflow inefficiencies and pain points, and deliver concise, impactful summary of findings
- Demonstrate expertise in utilizing systems (programming, data collection, data tabulations, dashboard reporting and analysis) to deliver insights that inform client expectations and business outcomes through structured measurement and robust analytics
- Understand overall business system landscape, including data flows and internal/ external integrations among Foundation ecosystem of primary applications and software solutions; evaluate system processes against larger Foundation-wide goals and initiatives
- Prioritize continuous improvement opportunities and act as functional project lead during all phases of the design to implementation cycle to ensure business objectives are met, systems are maximized, and highest value is generated for ministry/ support service use
- Use analytics and data science techniques to manipulate large structured and unstructured data sets to generate insights for on-going analysis projects
- Configure and maintain Foundation Ministry Models dashboard and reports
- Act as a creative problem-solver, organization change agent, and support mechanism to gain efficiencies, best depict information, and craft action plans to improve overall business processes
- Serve as a trusted expert advisor/ Subject Matter Expert for analysis and process design services, which may range from informal advice and training to formal presentations
- Collaborate with a team of analysts to influence stakeholders to support business projects within the Foundation data strategy and systems governance framework
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in Business Administration, Computer Science or Data Analytics, quantitative social science, or a closely related field
- 2 years of professional industry experience in project management
- Experience with programs like SPSS, R, Alteryx, etc. a plus
- Have the capability to work autonomously and make independent decisions to meet deliverables with minimal oversight
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment and able to quickly adjust to changing priorities
- Ability to write and present results to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Customer service attitude with the ability to develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with the team and diverse populations and personalities.
