Winsert is seeking qualified candidates for a Controller! This position is an addition to the Finance team to support Winsert's growth. This role combines strong operational accounting knowledge with higher-level financial oversight, including financial reporting, budget support, internal controls, and strategic financial analysis.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of Winsert while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of all accounting functions. The Controller will be an important lead in the finance team, maintain compliance with applicable financial regulations, and provide financial insight that supports sound business decision making. This position plays a key role in strengthening financial processes, improving reporting capabilities, and supporting executive leadership with timely and accurate financial information.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Support the creation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends and variances, and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Lead and support managers in annual budget development process.
  • Evaluate performance against budget and develop financial reforecasts for accurate projections.
  • Oversee and manage all accounting processes, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounting.
  • Complete and oversee banking requirements and cash management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop, analyze, document, and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial goals with business objectives and provide financial insight to support operational planning and business initiatives.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Support annual audits including financial, insurance, bank, 401k, etc.
  • Support biweekly hourly and salaried payroll processing for multiple sites.
  • Monitor department workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and resource utilization.
  • Support system improvements and process automation initiatives, including ERP system optimization.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, cost and inventory accounting) and financial controls.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to actively move through office space to work with staff.
  • Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen.
  • Hearing must be correctable to allow extensive use of telephone and voicemail as well as participate in discussions among large groups.
  • Mobility and coordination must allow for required tasks to be performed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in Accounting and Finance.
  • CPA, CMA, or advanced accounting certification preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning preferred.
