Cashier/Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities

• Operate cash registers efficiently, accurately handling retail sales transactions and cash drawer management.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales.
• Maintain knowledge of store products, merchandising standards, and current promotions to effectively assist customers.
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure the sales floor is clean and inviting for shoppers.
• Handle phone inquiries with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and providing information as needed.
• Support inventory management by assisting with stocking and inventory counts as directed by supervisors.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
• Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations is a plus.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience or leadership skills are advantageous for supporting team efforts.
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
• Strong communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and attentive listening.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and balancing cash drawers at shift end.
• Knowledge of retail store product lines, merchandising techniques, and retail math principles is beneficial.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including weekends or evenings.

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
