WinnMed is seeking to hire a Pharmacy Technician in the WinnMed Retail Pharmacy!
The Retail Pharmacy Technician will function under the direct supervisor of a registered pharmacist. This position supports pharmacy services by performing data entry for new prescriptions, selecting the correct drug and strength, processing insurance information, counting/pouring or measuring the correct amount of medication, and labeling the prescription container for the pharmacist to check. The Retail Pharmacy Technician is also responsible for a variety of clerical and customer service duties including, but not limited to answering phones, using cash registers, data entry/software utilization, inventory management, ordering medications and supplies, and stocking shelves. Properly trained technicians may also administer vaccines under the supervision of the registered pharmacist.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board completed or in progress.
- Registration with Iowa Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee required.
- Basic Data entry and/or computer skills required
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Previous hospital experience beneficial.
- Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
