What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Lab Scientist position at WinnMed?
WinnMed is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Lab Technician to join our Laboratory Services team! Medical Lab Scientists perform a wide-range of diagnostic testing. This position is responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, problem resolution; assessing specimen quality and test validity. Position is PRN or "as needed" which may include a variety of shifts. Holiday rotation of 1-2 holidays per year is required.
- Completion of a Medical/ Clinical Laboratory Science program or equivalent
- Certification by a registry board (ASCP, AMT or equivalent) as MLS or MLT
- BLS certification required
- Previous medical technologist experience preferred
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize test requests required
- High degree of accuracy and reliability required
