Job Title: JV Boys Basketball Coach Location: Winnisquam Regional High School, Tilton, NH Position Type: Part-Time, Seasonal Application Deadline: November 1, 2026Position SummaryWinnisquam Regional High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Head Coach for the Boys Junior Varsity Basketball team for the 20252026 season. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing players, teaching basketball fundamentals, and preparing student-athletes for competition at the varsity level. Emphasis will be placed on skill development, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship.Key ResponsibilitiesCoaching & Training: Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies that align with the programs philosophy. Lead practices, drills, and conditioning sessions to improve player development.Game Management: Oversee all aspects of JV game days, including strategy, player rotation, and in-game decision-making.
Support and collaborate with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure program alignment.Player Development: Provide constructive feedback to help athletes strengthen skills and prepare for varsity-level competition. Promote growth, discipline, and a strong work ethic.Communication: Maintain open and professional communication with athletes, parents, the Varsity Head Coach, and school administrators.Safety & Compliance: Ensure all practices and games follow school policies, safety guidelines, and NHIAA regulations.Team Culture: Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environment. Serve as a role model for student-athletes.Administrative Duties: Coordinate scheduling needs with the Athletic Director, manage equipment, and maintain records as needed.QualificationsExperience: Previous coaching experience at the high school or competitive youth level is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and strategies is required.Skills: Demonstrated leadership, motivational, and organizational skills.
Effective communicator with players, families, and staff.Certifications: Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification is required or must be obtained upon hiring. NFHS Concussion Course, and Heat Illness certification required.Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and comply with all district and NHIAA requirements.CONTRACT/STIPENDCoaches are contracted for one (1) season.
