Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of deli foods including slicing meats, cheeses, salads, and other fresh offerings with precision and care.
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales efficiently while ensuring accuracy in cash handling and transactions.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers in selecting products, answering questions, and offering upselling suggestions to enhance their experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning workstations, utensils, and food preparation areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Restock deli displays promptly to ensure product availability and visual appeal; assist with inventory management.
• Follow food handling procedures diligently to ensure freshness, safety, and quality of all products served or sold.
• Support other store functions such as bussing tables, managing quick service orders, or assisting in the café or grocery sections as needed.

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments; familiarity with deli operations preferred.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; basic math skills for cash handling and retail math are essential.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse customers.
• Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail in food safety and sanitation practices.
• Experience in quick service or fast-food restaurants is advantageous; familiarity with cashiering, upselling techniques, and serving procedures is highly valued.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and kitchen experience is a plus.
