7 HOUR POSITION
Qualifications Profile:
Must meet the following requirements which include:
High school diploma in addition to one of the following:
- Associate’s degree
- 2 years of college (48 semester credits)
- Pass the PRAXIS Paraprofessional test
Position Purpose
- Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties such as proctoring study halls to enable them to make a contribution to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development.
Essential Job Functions
-Bi-Lingual in the Spanish and English languages
-Ability to read and write documentation in the Spanish and English languages
-Ability to speak fluently in the Spanish and English languages
-Ability to interpret during parent/teacher conferences
-Ability to work one-on-one with students, parents and staff members
-Willingness to be trained to assist with the WIDA testing program
-Ability to assist with the instruction of ML students in traditional classroom settings
Additional Duties:
- Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
