The Events Specialist & RV Technician is a salaried, technically focused role responsible for ensuring Winnebago vehicles and supporting equipment operate, present, and perform at the highest standards across corporate events, dealer activations, and internal business needs. This position blends advanced RV technical expertise with field execution, emphasizing system readiness, compliance, diagnostics, and repair excellence. The role serves as a trusted technical resource to Marketing, Sales, Service, and Operations, ensuring units used for display, demonstration, and promotional purposes are safe, functional, and brand‑representative at all times. This position is based in Forest City, Iowa.
Primary Objective of the Position
- Serve as the primary technical owner for corporate event and display units, ensuring all RV systems are fully operational, compliant, and presentation‑ready prior to deployment.
- Plan, coordinate, execute, and support the technical setup, operation, and teardown of Winnebago units and supporting equipment at approved shows, events, and experiential marketing engagements.
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on RVs supporting marketing, sales, service, and operational needs.
- Maintain vehicles, displays, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, functional, and up‑to‑date condition, including proper transportation, storage, and documentation of asset condition.
- Ensure all units meet company quality standards, DOT requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations prior to operation, transport, or public display.
- Support professional product presentation through technical accuracy in system setup, leveling, power, HVAC, plumbing, and functional demonstrations.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Engineering, Service, and Dealer representatives to resolve technical issues, answer system‑level questions, and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Maintain required licenses, certifications, and credentials necessary to safely and legally operate company vehicles, equipment, and machinery, including timely completion of all required HR and Transportation documentation.
Non‑Event Technical & Operational Responsibilities
During periods without scheduled events, this role functions as an advanced technical support resource across the business, including but not limited to:
- Move, stage, and position RV units between production, storage, dispatch, and service areas as needed.
- Perform detailed inspections, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs across multiple RV systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, propane, chassis interfaces, and interior components.
- Support off‑site technical needs associated with community events, dealer activities, special projects, or field support requests.
- Provide cross‑functional technical assistance to Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Marketing, and Operations teams based on business demand.
- Document repairs, inspections, and findings accurately to support traceability, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including sweeping, trash removal, parts disposal, and adherence to 5S and safety standards.
- Understand and comply with all environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.

- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time, including occasional extended or irregular schedules tied to event support.
Preferred Experience and Education
- Forklift certification required.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
- RVIA certification preferred.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- Prior experience in RV, automotive, marine, heavy equipment, or related technical service environments strongly preferred.
