What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Control Investigator position at Winnebago County Animal Services?
Winnebago County Animal Services seeks applicants for the position of Animal Control Investigator. This is a part time position that works primarily on animal control cases under the direction of the officer's supervisor and reporting to the State's Attorney's office.
Examples of Work
1. Conduct interviews, take written statements, collect evidence and prepare cases for prosecution.
2. Follow up on animal related cases and respond to calls with animal control officers when requested.
3. Prepare and execute search warrants and testify in court relative to facts acquired in the investigation.
4. Establish and maintain confidential records and files pertinent to cases under investigation.
Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum of 2 years experience in law enforcement investigative work or related field; 1 year experience in an animal related field or any equivalent combination of education and exp
2. Requires current certification as a police officer through the Illinois Training Board.
3. Requires possession of and ability to maintain a valid, violation free Illinois Class "A" Driver's License
