ABOUT THE ROLE
WINN Design Build is a luxury residential design-build firm established in 2002, seeking a Director of Construction to lead field operations with full ownership of project profitability and client satisfaction. You’ll manage 4–6 concurrent custom and semi-custom projects, develop a team of Project Managers, and build the operational systems that scale our business—including support for Venli Homes, our new Scandinavian-inspired semi-custom product line.
Reports to the Founder Principal.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Build and Lead the Team
• Lead, coach, and hold Project Managers accountable for GP, NPS, and project outcomes
• Establish a regular PM coaching cadence with weekly one-on-ones and structured development plans
• Create clear delegation frameworks and decision-making authorities
• Facilitate weekly production meetings and maintain team alignment
Create Systems That Scale
• Design estimating systems and costing database for consistent, accurate project pricing
• Document “The Winn Way”—company standards covering key processes and trade scopes
• Develop PM empowerment tools: budget protocols, schedule frameworks, decision authorities
• Establish subcontractor performance tracking and feedback systems
Ensure Project Success
• Serve as escalation point for schedule, budget, and quality challenges
• Monitor project financials and proactively address budget variances
• Manage trade partner relationships and oversee purchasing strategies
Drive Strategic Growth
• Contribute construction operations expertise to the Venli Homes product line
• Participate in annual production planning and capacity forecasting
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 7 years residential construction experience including ground-up new construction
• 3 years leading construction teams and developing direct reports
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects ($1M values)
• Track record building systems that improve operational performance
• Strong integrity, accountability, and genuine interest in developing others
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
• $150,000–$160,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
• Up to $30,000 annual performance incentive tied to gross profit margin and client satisfaction
