Job Title Lead Preschool Teacher- Beal City Elementary Location

Summer employment available if candidate has interest
Compensation $20-$22 per hour
Required
Education
One of the following:
● Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with a specialization
in preschool teaching
● A valid MI teaching certificate with one of the following endorsements: ZA, ZS, Birth-K, or
PK-3.
● If a candidate is currently pursuing one of the Bachelor’s Degree options listed above and
has already completed a significant amount of coursework (90 credits or more), they may
be considered for employment under a compliance plan if schooling can reasonably be
completed within three years. Employment under these conditions must be approved by our
ISD.
Schedule Our lead teachers are generally scheduled from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm. Our preschool programs
follow the Beal City Public Schools calendar with a few slight variations to accommodate GSRP
requirements and organization priorities. Some involvement with our after school programming may
be necessary throughout the school year. We also have year round employment available at our
summer programs.
Required Skills Our desired lead teacher is a productive communicator with strong leadership skills and a love for
teaching our community’s young learners. Lead teachers help guide the teaching team to provide
high quality, safe, and fun preschool programming for our students. Lead teachers must be
organized individuals who can manage the classroom environment effectively.
Responsibilities Daily Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
● Create & maintain a positive, nurturing, and fun Early Childhood classroom.
● Productive and positive communication with program families.
● Ability to productively lead a team of individuals.
● Ability to manage a schedule and deadlines.
● Complete required annual training and have a general eagerness to learn!
● Understand licensing rules for the State of Michigan.
● Understand teaching and program requirements of the Great Start to Readiness Program
(GSRP)
● Understand and uphold the standards of WAAC programming.
● Lead and maintain positive relationships with coworkers. While lead teachers serve as the
main on-site managers for teaching teams, they are deeply supported by our Executive and
Assistant Directors. We thrive better together!
● Ability to utilize technology such as Google Workspace and Procare.
● Effectively manage the spectrum of behaviors one can encounter when working with young
children.
● Maintain positive relationships with public school personnel and community partners.
● Physically able to work and play with children indoors or outdoors- including floor play.
● Maintain a clean classroom environment and follow program health guidelines.
● Ability to utilize provided curriculum materials effectively and adapt the tools to create a
forward thinking & equitable learning space for children ages 3-5 years old.
● Assess children utilizing the COR Assessment platform.
