We are looking for a Senior Communications Specialist to support internal and franchisee messaging across our resale brands: Once Upon A Child®, Plato’s Closet®, Play It Again Sports®, Music Go Round®, and Style Encore®.
This role is focused on clarity, connection, and impact. You’ll lead the development and execution of communications that inform, engage, and align our franchise system with business priorities. By partnering closely with marketing, franchise development, leadership teams, and external PR partners, this position supports delivery of communications across channels—activating strategic initiatives across the system.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and oversee communication plans for key programs (marketing, technology, operational, training initiatives), partnering with stakeholders to determine messaging strategy, timing, and channels.
- Translate business initiatives into clear, simple, actionable messaging
- Maintain editorial calendars and manage deadlines of communication materials
- Execute internal and franchisee communications across key channels (email, internal platforms, franchisee communities)
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate messaging
- Create and manage toolkits, FAQs, and communication assets for consistent rollout
- Coordinate with PR agency on materials, timelines, and follow-ups
- Ensure message consistency, tone, and brand voice across communications
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in communications, PR, or marketing, with demonstrated experience supporting cross-functional or multi-stakeholder initiatives
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams
- Experience with email, internal communications platforms, or content development
- Interest in AI tools and emerging marketing technologies, with a willingness to learn and apply them in day-to-day work
- Exposure to PR or agency coordination is a plus
- Experience in retail, franchise, or multi-location brands preferred
