What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician / Optometric Technician position at Wink Optometry & Eyewear?
We are looking for friendly and courteous individuals who are willing to work hard to make others happy in the eye care business. The position would include such administrative tasks such as entering prescription details for online lab orders, checking glasses in as they arrive from the lab, pretesting and writing up new orders. Also answering incoming phone calls that the front desk person can't get to.
Obviously having experience will be considered for the higher pay scale.
Summary
As an Optician, you will be essential in supporting the eye care team and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your core skills in optometry, lens terminology, and frame knowledge will aid in patient care and customer service. Your relevant experience with EMR systems and medical records will enhance efficiency, making you a vital asset in delivering high-quality eye care and patient satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Medical office experience, preferably in an optometry/ophthalmology setting
- Proficiency in EMR systems, including Eyefinity EHR
- Experience with patient care and intake procedures
- Understanding of lens technology & frame fashions
- Ability to take vital signs and manage medical records
- Retail sales experience is a plus, along with familiarity in the optical dept
