WHAT WE'LL NEED
The Compliance Paralegal is responsible for ensuring all franchisees are in legal compliance with Wingstop development and franchise agreement requirements. This person will be working with the Legal Team to in dealing with business issues surrounding franchising and legal matters for franchisee as well as related entities.
Responsibilities:
Provide internal and external customers with excellent customer service.
Effectively communicates current status of all projects, problems, and issues to the General Counsel.
Document Preparation; Tracking on spreadsheet and in company database; Termination/ Cancellation documents/ letters; Amendment/ Addendum preparation, tracking, follow-up, execution, and Notice Distribution;
SBA Document preparation and execution for lenders upon request: Draft and execute SBA Addendum to the Franchise Agreement; Review, amend and execute all subordination agreements, Agreements of Franchisor and correspondence with lenders;
FDD: Manage yearly Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) filing along with any necessary amendment filings; Coordinate with each Wingstop Team to make all necessary updates and changes to the FDD each year to properly reflect our current business practices; Update SBA registration annually in conjunction with FDD renewal and/or amendments;
Trademarks: Submit and track trademark requests to counsel; Trademark file management with counsel
Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- At least 3-5 years’ experience as a paralegal is highly preferred
- Specialized paralegal certificate from an ABA approved facility in business or real estate law is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Advanced knowledge of Federal and state FDD disclosure laws and regulations
