Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, speed, and consistency to meet quality standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and flavor excellence
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food safety protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper food handling techniques are followed at all times
- Support catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of dishes efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service
- Use knife skills effectively for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food preparation tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide work is a plus
- Skilled in meal preparation, food presentation, and culinary techniques including knife skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
