Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic project management team. The ideal candidate will assist with planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior project managers with all aspects of project delivery from pre-construction through closeout
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
- Track project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics
- Help prepare submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation
- Attend project meetings and document meeting minutes and action items
- Assist in procurement of materials and equipment
- Monitor site safety, quality, and compliance with contract specifications
- Perform site visits to track progress and provide support as needed
- Support project closeout, including documentation and punch list coordination
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
- Internship or co-op experience in construction or mechanical contracting a plus
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera, or MS Project) is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the construction industry
