Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, logistics, and team leadership. This role involves ensuring efficient inventory management, maintaining safety standards, and implementing process improvements to enhance overall productivity.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership to the production operations team and serves as a link to plant management
- Works with team members to help them reach their full potential
- Facilitates meetings and intervenes as necessary to keep the team’s goals and results consistent with company direction
- Facilitates day-to-day activities of the team
- Ensures all schedules and customer orders are met
- Manages the safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement of his or her shift
- Participates on the Plant Safety Team
- Interpret customer specifications to identify nonconforming material and/or to ensure materials are produced according to customer specification
- Manage workflow of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods
- Performs tests and/or inspections of work-in-progress material in various stages within the production process. Reviews material characteristics such as dimensional, mechanical, and/or functional.
- Record and report daily results to Plant Manager
- Train operators and others, as required, to complete job duties
- Serve as part of Site Leadership Team during production operations meetings.
- Conducts inventory of raw materials, WIP, finished goods and supplies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse management or as a Warehouse Supervisor with a strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes.
- Proficiency in inventory management practices
- Experience with materials handling and the ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
- Knowledge of forklift operation and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as SQF and GMP.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement initiatives.
- Previous experience in Lean or Six Sigma experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Critical thinking.
- Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
