WHO WE ARE

We’re not in the wing business. We’re in the flavor business. It’s been our mission to Serve the World Flavor since we first opened in 1994, and we’re just getting started. 1997 saw the opening of our first brand partner operated Wingstop location, and by 2002 we had served the world one billion wings. It’s flavor that defines us and has made Wingstop one of the fastest growing brands in the restaurant industry.

Above all else – our success is largely due to our people and our core values, or what we call The Wingstop Way of being entrepreneurial, service-minded, fun, and authentic. We believe having a strong people foundation centered on these collective values creates a crave-worthy culture and talented team, as well as ensures our brand is poised for accelerated growth. We all win together.

WHAT WE'LL NEED

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer – Software Development in Test who thinks like a developer first and treats quality as a built-in feature — not a phase at the end.

In this role, you’ll design and build production-quality code that enables testing at scale. You’ll work deep in the application stack, partnering with engineers to ensure systems are testable by design, observable in production, and resilient under real-world load. Automation is important — but engineering discipline, test-driven development, and ownership of outcomes matter even more.

If you enjoy building services, APIs, and frameworks that make defects hard to introduce in the first place, you’ll feel right at home.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and develop testable services, APIs, and frameworks that support functional, integration, and regression testing
  • Apply test-driven and behavior-driven development practices to ensure quality is embedded directly into application code
  • Build and maintain automated validation at the API and backend layers, with UI automation used strategically — not reflexively
  • Partner with developers to influence architecture, design, and implementation choices that improve reliability and testability
  • Integrate automated validation into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast feedback and high confidence releases
  • Own quality outcomes from design through production, including functional correctness, data integrity, and system behavior
  • Participate in code reviews as an engineering peer — raising the bar for readability, test coverage, and maintainability
  • Create and manage test data, environments, and supporting utilities as part of a broader DevOps mindset
  • Investigate production issues alongside engineering teams, contributing to root cause analysis and long-term fixes
  • Work hands-on in a full-stack .NET and Angular ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on backend logic, APIs, and data flows

Flavor Stack:

  • Languages: C#, JavaScript, or Python (strong preference for backend-capable engineers)
  • Frameworks & Tooling: xUnit/NUnit, Playwright, REST clients, service-level test tooling
  • DevOps: GitHub Actions, Docker
  • Cloud: AWS
  • Test Management: TestRail or equivalent
  • Tech Ecosystem: .NET Core backend services with Angular front-end consumers

Extra Flavor:

  • Influence how teams design and build software — not just how they test it
  • Help shift quality left by making systems easier to validate and harder to break
  • Work with engineers who believe testing is an engineering responsibility
  • Build tooling and frameworks that scale with the platform
  • Plenty of room to flex your backend and systems-thinking muscles

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 7-10 years of experience writing production-grade software, with testing as a core responsibility
  • Strong programming skills in TypeScript, C#, JavaScript, or Python, with an emphasis on backend or service-layer development
  • Hands-on experience applying test-driven development (TDD) or similar engineering practices
  • Experience validating RESTful APIs, service integrations, and backend business logic
  • Solid understanding of software design principles, including modularity, maintainability, and separation of concerns
  • Comfort working with CI/CD pipelines and automated validation as part of daily development
  • Experience collaborating in Agile/Scrum teams with shared ownership of quality and delivery
  • Familiarity working in modern .NET (Core/6 ) and Angular environments, with primary focus on backend behavior
  • Ability to debug complex systems and trace issues across services, data, and infrastructure

WHO YOU ARE

No job is too small. You recognize that the real work happens in the restaurants, and everything we do should support their success. You stay humble, roll up your sleeves, and always look for ways to help. You learn from others and contribute wherever you can.

You care deeply about doing great work and driving results. You’re curious, ask questions, and seek out opportunities to improve. You don’t just point out problems—you bring solutions, ideas, and perspectives that move the team forward.

You take full responsibility for your work and see things through to completion. You aren’t afraid to fail because you know that failure is a part of learning and growth. You take action, move fast, and keep pushing forward.

You lead with empathy, respect, and emotional intelligence. You collaborate effectively, fostering a culture of trust and constructive feedback. You understand the importance of teamwork and ensure that your actions build others up rather than break them down.

You push yourself and others to be better. You embrace healthy conflict, knowing that great ideas and strong teams emerge from honest, constructive conversations. You believe that leaders create leaders and are committed to fostering a culture of growth, challenge, and continuous improvement.
