WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Sewing Machine Operator I is responsible for operating and maintaining sewing machines to perform advanced garment sewing operations. This role ensures efficient and precise sewing of various fabric and textile materials, contributing to the production of high-quality products and leading efforts to optimize production processes.
STRUCTURE
The Sewing Machine Operator reports to the Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager and collaborates closely with Quality Control Inspectors and Production Planners. They provide mentorship and guidance to entry-level and intermediate sewing machine operators.
RESPONSIBILITY

Operating sewing machines to perform advanced garment sewing operations efficiently and accurately.

Conducting regular maintenance and troubleshooting of sewing machines to ensure optimal functionality.

Collaborating with team members to meet production targets and quality standards.

Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Leading training and mentorship programs for new and intermediate sewing machine operators.

Assisting in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance production efficiency.
Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.

Proven experience as a Sewing Machine Operator or similar role, preferably in an industrial setting.

Familiarity with various types of sewing machines and different fabric/textile materials.

An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience will be considered.

Week 2-4: Engage in intensive training sessions focused on mastering all types of sewing machines and advanced garment sewing operations.

Month 2: Begin leadership training to develop skills in team management, mentoring, and process optimization.
Month 3-4: Process Improvement and Team Integration

Month 3: Work on high-priority sewing projects, aiming to exceed production targets and maintain the highest quality standards.

Month 4: Collaborate with the Quality Control team to implement and uphold stringent quality assurance standards.
Month 5-6: Independent Leadership and Evaluation

Month 5: Lead training and mentorship programs for entry-level and intermediate sewing machine operators, demonstrating leadership and teaching skills.

Month 6: Take on supervisory responsibilities, managing workflow and troubleshooting complex issues.
