Overview
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Liquor Store Cashier to join our energetic team at Wines On Main. In this role, you’ll represent the store — assisting customers, managing transactions, and sharing your expertise in wines and spirits to create an exceptional shopping experience. Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly and assisting them in selecting wines, liquors, and other products that meet their preferences and needs.
- Operate POS systems efficiently for order processing, payments, and cash handling.
- Offer product recommendations and use suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in restocking shelves, maintaining displays, and ensuring products are properly labeled and priced.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately and balance the register at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment, ensuring compliance with state alcohol laws and store policies.
- Participate in inventory control, stock rotation, and periodic stock counts.
- Support promotional events such as tastings and in-store specials to encourage customer engagement and sales.
- Stay updated on wine and spirits trends, new arrivals, and product features to provide knowledgeable service.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations, especially during busy periods or holidays.
Qualifications
- Previous retail or cashier experience in a liquor, wine, or beverage store is required.
- Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and mixology basics is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with POS systems (e.g., Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and able to verify age for alcohol purchases in compliance with state laws.
- Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
