Position Summary:
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, including sales performance, staff management, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service. This role ensures compliance with all liquor laws and regulations while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Store Operations:
- Manage daily store operations, ensuring smooth opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards.
- Monitor cash handling, register accuracy, and financial reporting.
- Implement and uphold all company policies, safety rules, and legal requirements related to alcohol sales.
Sales & Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service and foster a positive shopping experience.
- Drive sales through promotions, product knowledge, and customer engagement.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee ordering, receiving, and stocking of products.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and minimize shrinkage or spoilage.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and manage relationships with distributors and suppliers.
- Ensure proper product rotation and compliance with storage regulations.
Staff Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise store employees.
- Set performance goals, provide feedback, and conduct employee evaluations.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Ensure all staff adhere to age verification procedures and responsible alcohol sales laws.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local liquor laws.
- Maintain required licenses and certifications.
- Enforce ID verification and responsible alcohol service policies.
- Uphold workplace safety standards and emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 2–5 years of retail management experience (liquor, grocery, or convenience store preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of alcohol products, inventory management, and retail operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must meet legal requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Perform physical tasks such as stocking, cleaning, and merchandising.
