About the Role
We're looking for a responsible, reliable cleaner to keep our properties looking their best. You'll handle cleaning of common areas and detailed cleaning of units after turnovers are completed, helping us get vacant units market-ready quickly and to a high standard. This role is a great fit for someone who takes pride in their work, notices the details others miss, and can manage their day independently.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role with flexible hours that vary based on workload.
What You'll Do
- Deep-clean units after turnover work is completed: floors, walls, appliances, cabinets, bathrooms, fixtures, and windows
- Clean and maintain building common areas: hallways, lobbies, stairwells, laundry rooms, and shared spaces
- Prepare units to move-in ready condition, ensuring nothing is overlooked before a unit is listed or handed off
- Follow established cleaning checklists and quality standards for each property
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or supply needs you notice during cleaning
- Manage supplies and equipment responsibly and keep them stocked (Landmark provides all cleaning supplies and equipment)
- Travel between assigned properties across the Chicago area as scheduled
What We're Looking For
- Reliability and strong commitment: you show up, on time, and follow through
- Sharp attention to detail and high cleaning standards
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical stamina: able to stand, bend, lift, and move for extended periods
- Prior cleaning experience preferred, especially in residential turnovers or property management
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license to travel between properties
- Ability to communicate updates through our team channels (training provided)
Schedule & Compensation
- 1099 independent contractor; ongoing work with flexible hours based on workload
- $18–$20/hr depending on experience, paid biweekly
- Gas stipend ($100/wk) and cleaning supplies provided ($100/mo)
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
