What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Director position at Windward Recruiting?
We have an opportunity for a driven, relationship-first Regional Director to join a high-performing, collaborative wealth management team in Los Angeles.
This is a high-visibility, high-upside position within a fast-moving office that values momentum, team integration, and a “roll up your sleeves” approach. Success here is built on presence, consistency, and the ability to navigate both the business and client sides of the business.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and deepen relationships with Financial Consultants and branch leadership across Schwab and Fidelity partner branches
- Increase referral flow by maintaining consistent branch presence, follow-up cadence, and high-touch partner servicing
- Act as the primary local point person for branch partners and ensure wins are communicated, relationships are nurtured, and opportunities are not missed
- Execute a territory strategy, including scheduling, prioritization, and branch meeting planning
- Partner closely with the advisory team to coordinate introductions, attend presentations, and ensure a strong client experience from first meeting through onboarding
- Conduct effective discovery conversations with prospective clients and guide them into the appropriate advisor relationship based on needs, complexity, and fit
- Demonstrate a consultative, human-centered approach when meeting with clients (not product pitching)
- Track and manage activity, pipeline, and relationship momentum using CRM and internal tools
- Maintain strong internal alignment by participating in team meetings and building rapport with advisors and operational partners
- Represent the office in a way that builds trust through professionalism, responsiveness, and consistency
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years of experience in sales in the financial industry, with 5 years of proven success in business development, relationship management, or wholesaling OR 5 years of experience as an advisor through the SAN/WAS channels
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Economics; MBA or above preferred
- Series 63/65 licenses required; CFP designation preferred
- Ability to operate confidently with both financial consultants and branch teams, as well as working directly with individuals/families in consultative conversations
- Experience working with Schwab and/or Fidelity channels (or a transferable model involving branch partnerships)
- Strong territory management skills and able to plan and run a repeatable weekly schedule across multiple locations
- High “in-person” presence and comfort building relationships through real-world contact and serendipity (not purely virtual)
- Must live within close proximity to the Brentwood office and surrounding branch footprint (LA-based; short commute strongly preferred due to travel traffic realities)
- Hungry, proactive, and socially confident. Must be able to connect with a wide age range of branch partners and build genuine rapport
- Organized and disciplined follow-through; comfortable managing multiple relationships and moving parts at once
- Strong communication style: polished, warm, and able to flex between business conversations and client-centered empathy
- Tech/CRM proficiency and comfort working in a fast-growing, operationally streamlined environment
This is a relationship-driven role with strong growth potential, high team support, and a warm market where branch partners already know the firm. Success comes from showing up consistently, servicing the channel well, and converting opportunities with a consultative, human approach.
