What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist- full time needed position at Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union?
The WSESU is seeking a student-centered Occupational Therapist to help our students develop the skills necessary for the "job" of living and learning. You will work as part of an integrated team to provide high-quality services that support students' functional independence in the classroom and school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct formal assessments and observations to determine student needs in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, and visual-motor integration.
Develop and implement individualized goals and objectives for Student IEPs and 504 Plans.
Provide direct therapy services and consultative support to teachers and educational staff.
Recommend and assist with the implementation of assistive technology and environmental modifications.
Maintain accurate documentation, including session notes, progress reports, and Medicaid billing where applicable.
Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to support the MTSS/RTI process.
Job Requirements
Degree Preferred: Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Experience Preferred: 1–3 years of experience in a school-based or pediatric setting (New graduates are encouraged to apply).
Licensure: Valid State License in Occupational Therapy and/or NBCOT certification.
Citizenship: Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Additional Requirements:
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with parents and educators.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations (IDEA) regarding special education services.
Ability to travel between district schools if required by the caseload.
