What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Aide position at Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Edinburg?
As an Activity Aide, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents every day. You’ll work alongside the Activity Director to create opportunities for connection, engagement, creativity, and joy—helping each resident participate in activities that reflect their individual interests, abilities, and needs.
From leading group activities and supporting community events to spending one-on-one time with a resident who may be unable to join a group, you’ll help ensure that every resident has opportunities to feel included, valued, and connected. You’ll also assist with Residents’ Council, special events, beauty and barber services, newsletters, and other programs that bring our community together.

- Facilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents.
- Ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residents
- Assist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activities
- Provide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate record
- Assist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors. Calendar should also be provided to each resident and posted in room
- Assist with generating the facility newsletter
- Participate in community events related to the interest of the facility.
- Attend in-services as necessary
- Assist residents to and from activities
- Assist with activity program including Residents' Council and night and weekend activities as needed
- Deliver resident mail daily
- Other duties as assigned by the Activity Director and/or Administrator
Educational/Training Requirements
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is preferred
Licensing Requirements
- A Certified Nurse Aide is preferred
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience working in an activity or recreational department in the long-term care industry or a related industry is preferred
