What are the responsibilities and job description for the Van Driver - Resident Transport position at WINDSOR HOUSE INC?
JOB TITLE: Corporate Van Driver
JOB SUMMARY: This employee is required to be a licensed driver capable of handling elderly residents, some of whom may be ill and may have limited mobility. Employee must maintain a positive attitude as a representative of the facility, be dependable and flexible.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Van driver is accountable to the Fleet Manager.
EQUIPMENT USED: Must be able to drive a van.
ENVIRONMENT: 5% inside, 95%outside.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Transport residents to and from doctor appointments.
2. Transport residents to and from the hospital.
3. May transport families, as necessary, to and from the facility.
4. May transport Nurse Aide students and others to and from classes/inservices.
5. Assist nursing with scheduling of transports to minimize scheduling difficulties.
6. Have van serviced on a regular basis, according to corporate guidelines.
7. Keep a mileage log and weekly van checklist.
8. Responsible for keeping van clean, both inside and outside.
9. Do all things necessary for the residents’ health, safety, and welfare.
10. Must consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and behaviors, while contributing to the overall success of the Company.
11. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience driving a van and have the ability to work with elderly residents.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- A valid driver’s license issued from the state in which the person resides.
- CNA, First Aide and CPR certified or willing to obtain.
Other Considerations and Requirements:
Employee must be able to perform various tasks as required in transporting others. Employee is typically able to work at his or her own pace. Must be flexible as transports are often made on short notice.
