                                               Position Description

POSITION TITLE:        Director of Transportation

REPORTS TO:             Assistant Superintendent

The above position for the Windsor C-1 School District’s 2025-2026 school year

is hereby posted in accordance with Board Policy GCD “Professional Staff

Recruiting and Hiring.”

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills
• College degree preferred, not required.
• Two years of managerial experience preferred.

MAJOR POLICY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the operation of Transportation Services. 
• Ensure compliance with district operational regulations and procedures
• Ensure compliance with all Federal and state regulations and Board of Education policies.
• Accountable for the administration of the fiscal budget; supplies and equipment, safety standards, recommending the hiring of drivers.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Participate in professional conferences, inservice sessions, etc. to keep abreast of current practices.
2. Operate the programs in accordance with Federal and State Department guidelines and local Board of Education regulations and policies.
3. Attend meetings as required.
4. All other duties as assigned for the Superintendent or his/her designee.
