VDC / BIM-AI DEVELOPER

Reports to: Chief Innovation Officer

FSLA: Exempt

Objective: The VDC / BIM-AI Developer will support Windover’s industry-leading and growing portfolio of innovation projects focused on automation and AI. This role centers on coding, automation, and AI-enabled workflows that enhance BIM, Digital Twin, and emerging construction technology solutions. The developer will be an integral part of Windover’s VDC team, building scripts, cloud tools, dashboards, and platform integrations used across smart construction, extended reality, and Digital Twin deployments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop Python-based scripts that automate BIM and VDC workflows.
• Build and maintain cloud applications and services in Microsoft Azure.
• Integrate with APIs and SDKs (Autodesk, ACC/Tandem, Power BI, GIS, IoT).
• Automated plan review and compliance checking.
• Drawing comparison and QA/QC automation.
• Data structuring and extraction for Digital Twins.
• Build data pipelines from BIM, scan data, and sensors into dashboards.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and visual analytics for clients and internal use.
• Assist with prototypes and proof-of-concepts for automation, AI, and digital prefabrication.
• Work with JSON/CSV, IFC, COBie, SQL/NoSQL databases, and REST APIs.
• Occasionally support field teams with scans or data capture (training provided).
• Continuously research and learn emerging AI, automation, and cloud technologies.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Python (required).
• Experience with APIs, JSON, SQL or NoSQL, and data processing.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, ideally Microsoft Azure.
• Exposure to machine learning, computer vision, or OCR is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Autodesk Forge / Autodesk API / or ability to learn.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
• Ability to document code and follow version control and deployment workflows.
• Strong time management and ability to work on multiple active projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or similar field.
• 1–3 years of programming or applied development experience.
• Experience with BIM software is not required — considered a plus only.
• This role requires current authorization to work in the United States. Windover Construction does not provide visa sponsorship.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must have excellent stamina.
