Position Summary
- Assist with food preparation, the serving of food, the washing of dishes and pans, and the general cleaning of the kitchen/serving area.
- Be knowledgeable in all areas of food production including the ordering, preparing, serving techniques, and inventory procedures that meet the Child Nutrition Regulations created by the MDEA and the U.S.D.A.
- In the absence of the cook manager, be able to assume and carry out those duties
- Assist with setting up the serving lines and, when needed, with the preparing and serving of breakfast
- Assist with the checking of invoices and proper storage of the food when deliveries arrive
- Keep track of food products inventory and make the necessary comparison and adjustments with the weekly grocery order
- Keep the head cook and food service director informed as to the events and operations at the program level
- Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- One to three years of experience in a school food service program preferred
- Minnesota certified food manager (CFM) license preferred or ability to obtain
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a job-related field
- Union contract hourly range based on education, experience, and qualifications: $17.61 - $20.98
