Job Description
Windjammer Environmental LLC is seeking a Mid-Level Industrial Hygienist to support a major pharmaceutical client in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. This is a full-time temporary position with an approximate start date of October 5, 2026. The initial project assignment is anticipated to last six to twelve months, with the potential to hire, based on client needs. The ideal candidate will have 3–6 years of Industrial Hygiene/EHS experience, with a strong preference for candidates with hazardous materials, chemical safety, pharmaceutical, laboratory, or manufacturing experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting industrial hygiene and workplace hazard assessments.
- Evaluating employee exposures to chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
- Supporting hazardous materials, chemical safety, and hazardous waste programs.
- Conducting or coordinate exposure monitoring, including air sampling and noise assessments.
- Performing EHS inspections and compliance assessments.
- Evaluating engineering controls, work practices, and PPE requirements.
- Supporting hazard communication, SDS, chemical inventory, storage, and labeling programs.
- Assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Preparing technical reports, findings, and recommendations.
- Working closely with client EHS, operations, laboratory, engineering, and maintenance personnel.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Environmental
- Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of relevant Industrial Hygiene/EHS experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and recognized industrial hygiene practices.
- Strong technical writing and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work primarily onsite in the Indianapolis area (must be within daily commute area of the facility)
- Ability to begin work on or about October 5, 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, laboratory, or manufacturing experience
- Hazardous materials/hazardous waste experience
- HAZWOPER training
- CIH, CSP, ASP, or other relevant professional certification
